Aventurine Vs. Amazonite

Aventurine Vs. Amazonite

I’m sitting here doing my best to inventory all of my stones and crystals and get it done before the night is over. I have a green stone in my hand and can’t tell if it is Aventurine or Amazonite. Instead of recking my brain, I enlisted one of our new best friends, Google to do more research.

Why is hard to tell these stones apart?

Both of these stones are green in color. They are similar in makeup.

Aventurine is a form of quartz that contains mica and is usually green, but can also be found in shades of orange, red, yellow, green, blue and brown. The name aventurine comes from the Italian “a ventura,” which means “by chance,” and its shimmery appearance is due to its mica inclusions. Amazonite, on the other hand, is a type of feldspar that is usually green, but can occasionally have a blue or turquoise tint. Its name comes from the Amazon River, which is where the stone was first found.

Aventurine has been prized as a healing stone for centuries, and is said to bring luck and good fortune. It is believed to calm a troubled spirit and bring emotional balance. On the other hand, Amazonite is said to have a calming and soothing effect on the heart and throat chakras, helping the wearer to express their true feelings. It is also believed to be a powerful manifestation stone, helping to make dreams a reality.
