The Ankhsemble.com Team is truly honored to have you join us as a Volunteer and/or Model for our upcoming Fashion Show and Fundraiser. We are thrilled to bring this vision to life—a project built from the ground up with love, dedication, and creativity. Producing a show of this magnitude takes passion, planning, and most importantly, a strong, supportive team; and that includes YOU. Your presence, energy, and cooperation are essential to making this event a success.
Everything you need to know is outlined below. Let’s create something magical together.
Model Call
Bring photo ID. Arrive at MLK Library 901 G ST NW Washington DC Room 401-E, promptly at 12:30. Provide own shoes or heels (Audition, Fitting, & Show)
Walk with confidence and stage presence
Audition at Model Call THUR 7/3/25 or MON 7/7/25
Be able to attend Fitting MON 7/21/25 (Backup date available)
Wear fitted black clothing
Bring heels (for Femme models)
Auditions are in order of first come first serve
Arrival Directions – FOR MODEL CALL
When you arrive through the floor main doors (into the vestibule), walk to your right and through to the staircase to access the elevator(the elevator next to the staircase). Go to the 4th floor, make the first right into the main floor area. To your left and basically behind you, you will see a large glass wall with glass doors and a short hallway on each side. Enter into the first set of double glass doors and follow the corridor around to the back rooms and find room E at the end of the hall. Call (202)758-8868, if you get lost.

Enter into the first set of double glass doors and follow the corridor around to the left and then make a left at the end of the hallway. You will see the Backstage room.
Arrival & Runway Commitment
Punctuality is crucial. All participants must arrive no later than 5:00 PM. A mandatory brief dress rehearsal will take place at that time, this will be the final practice walk for models and for volunteers to receive final instructions before the show begins. The event will start promptly at 6:00 PM, and we kindly ask that once you arrive, you remain on-site until the conclusion of the show.
Your total commitment is just 1 hour and 45mins, with the runway segment lasting only 8–10 minutes. There will be a short break available before the show begins for restroom use and last-minute prep. There will not be a chance to eat after you are dressed. Lunch will be provided after you are undressed and the garment is returned to the designer. Your presence and focus during this time are vital to the success of the event. Thank you for showing up and showing out!
Modeling Prep: Confidence Over Perfection
Let’s be real, this isn’t Paris Fashion Week. This is our Fashion Show Fundraiser, and it’s being held in a room filled with supporters, peers, and people who believe in you. So take a deep breath and let those butterflies fly away. You’re not just here to walk a runway, you’re here to gain experience, build confidence, and to support a great cause.
The best way to show up ready is to plan ahead and practice. Start by walking in front of the mirror, try out a few different poses, and find your rhythm. Whether you’re a first-time model or just feeling a little nervous, we’ve got you. To help ease your mind and get you runway-ready, we’ve included some simple tips and instructions below.
Perks for Models & Volunteers
As a thank-you for your time and contribution, each Model and Volunteer will receive:
One (1) Free Ticket to the Backstage Raffle (exclusive to volunteers and models only)
Raffle tickets will be distributed only at 5:15 PM
You must be physically present at the time of distribution to receive your ticket
Note: General Fashion Show Raffle Tickets must be purchased separately to participate in the main raffle
One (1) Complimentary Lite Lunch
Please note: Eating is not permitted backstage, on stage, in the event room, or on the library’s main floor
You may enjoy your meal on the first floor in the Reading Room, where a café area with tables is available

Media package
A media package includes personal branding elements for publicity, not technical stats like measurements. Please provide the info you would like made public. Info can be sent to nkoayo@gmail.com. This step is optional, or we will use the information you provided.
1. Full Name (and Stage/Model Name, if different)– Make sure it’s spelled how you want it to appear in print.
2. Professional Bio (Short)– A 2–3 sentence paragraph that includes: optional
- Where you’re from (city, state)
- Modeling background (how long, what kind)
- Your vibe, look, or personality (e.g. “bold and edgy,” “classic elegance”)
- A fun fact or aspiration (e.g. “aspiring fashion editor” or “advocate for body positivity”)
- “Talia Simone is a Washington, DC–based model with a passion for runway and editorial fashion. Known for her confident walk and natural curls, she brings both elegance and edge to the catwalk. When she’s not modeling, she’s studying holistic wellness and empowering young girls through mentorship.”

In Line
Stand in your correct order
if you are #4, you should be the 4th person; you should be behind #3 and in front of #5.
stay in your place and do not switch or walk out of turn
You will be called up when it is your turn to Walk.
When Walking
keep a straight face and do not smile;but do not look angry; your face should be relaxed
walk with your back straight, chin up, and shoulders back
do not look down when you are walking
do no cover the garment you are showcasing; bring attention to it
point to the details in the Tye dye shirt; swing the skirt or use your hands to go down the sides of it
allow your arms to flow naturally
ignore the camera flashes
What to do
Walk to your first mark
*HOLD EACH POSE FOR 2 SECONDS BEFORE GOING INTO THE NEXT POSE
allow the audience to get a good look at your garment
1st Mark- 1-3 poses
no more than 3 poses on mark 1 & 2
2nd Mark- 1-3 poses
allow the camera to catch a good look at your garment
3rd Mark- 3-5 poses
no less than 3 poses on mark 3
– Mark #3 is where you pull out all your model attitude and give great poses
this mark is up close with the audience
-allow the camera to catch a good look at your garment
-keep your model face
4th Mark- Closing pose
turn to the audience and make your pose
EXIT-
(After your first walk)
Once you exit, go directly back into the Backstage Room to either;

Line Up, BACK IN THE SAME ORDER for the FINAL WALK
FINAL WALK-
the fun walk, you can show your personalities, smiles, or Niami Campbell walks at this time, so have fun.
First (1)- All Models will walk the runway (following the exact same directions)one final time.
You will hit each mark and walk in a single file line walking about 5-6 feet apart exiting the room.
Once, out of the room, you will line up in the hall to the left, preparing for the closing.
*Don’t forget to pose for cameras 1 & 2
Closing Walk (2)- All Models will be in line and walk about 5-6 feet apart.
The 1st Model should walk to Mark #1, the other models will follow and stand elbow length apart.
you should be close the the wall but not leaning on the wall
No more than 5 models on back row
Front row models (closes to the audience) will stand between the back row models
Every garment should be in view
Same for a 3rd row
After all models have walked out, Sisi amd Tamaya walks out to get your applause
You both walk to the 3rd Mark and wait for your applause, you both deserve it.
